The 2 Keys to Healing an Eating Disorder

The underlying cause of the growing epidemic in eating disorders and obesity isn’t food, but the fact that we don’t want to feel. We don’t know what to do with the sadness, disappointment, anger, helplessness, shame, anxiety or worthlessness inside of us and so we try and avoid or numb it through food and eating (or through not eating which is the other side of the same coin).

The blessing hidden in an eating disorder, is that to fully recover we must learn how to work with our minds and bodies to such a degree, that we not only heal our relationship to food, weight and body-image, but also learn how to live life fully, no matter what shows up.
